Liminal Spring: Honoring the Threshold

March doesn't announce itself with certainty.

It arrives the way transformation always does: With one foot still in the cold and one reaching toward something it can't yet name. Neither winter nor spring. Neither who you were nor who you're becoming.

This is the liminal space. The threshold. And most of us have been taught to rush through it.

In my work with women in recovery and transformation, I've come to believe that the doorway itself is sacred, not just what waits on the other side. The in-between is not a problem to solve. It's an initiation to move through with intention.

This month in my practice, I'm sitting with a simple prompt:

Draw or journal the doorway you're standing in right now.

Not the room you came from. Not the one you're headed toward. The door frame itself: what it looks like, how it feels to stand there, what you're carrying in your hands.

Recovery taught me that becoming is rarely a single moment of arrival. It is a thousand small threshold crossings. Each one asking: will you show up for this part, too?

If you're in a season of becoming and feel uncertain, tender, reaching, you're not behind. You're exactly where the work happens.

I'd love to know: what doorway are you standing in this March?

With love,

Laura
